Downloadable Content Confirmed for Killzone 2?

[SOURCE - PSXEXTREME] The single-player campaign and multiplayer options will be more than enough for you when Killzone 2 launches in a few weeks time. But a game can always benefit from the addition of downloadable content, and according to European gaming site PS3Sense.nl, DLC won't be far behind the release of the hotly anticipated shooter.

Of course, we all figured KZ2 would get DLC of some kind, but Guerilla has never confirmed what it might be, or when it might arrive. It seems they spoke to PS3Sense about it, and "soon after" the February 27 launch of the game, we can expect to see new content on the PlayStation Store. The rumor is that new maps and character skins may be in the first batch, with something more significant - like extra weapons and even new gameplay modes - will drop on a slightly later date. If you're wondering, there are 12 available multiplayer maps for Killzone 2, which should be enough to satisfy your needs for at least a little while. As for the rest, we're anticipating normally priced DLC packages that have become a fixture of this generation for major game releases. Of course, with all this talk of an eventual shift to 100% digital - which we still don't see happening any time soon - an entire game like KZ2 might, one day, be available for download. Until then, we'll just continue to buy the games as we always have, and take advantage of the extra online stuff.

We'll let you know when Guerilla decides to lift the veil on this downloadable content, and exactly when it'll be headed to the Store. Obviously, with this "soon after" comment, we're thinking March...a
