My Profile

How can I keep track of everything at once here at the site, like my clans, forum posts, awards/stats, etc?
Simple! Just click on the "My Profile" link to access your profile at any time. There you can view your complete profile including your forum posts, awards/stats, friends, clans, and much more!

How do I change my profile image/avatar?
To change your profile, click on the "My Profile" link to view your profile. Then, once you are at your profile, click on the "Edit" menu and click on "Update Your Image" You can either choose an image from our gallery or upload your own!

Where do I go to edit my profile and update my details?
To update your profile and edit any information you want to display on your profile page, go to your profile by clicking on the "My Profile" button. Then, click on the "Edit" menu and click on "Update Your Profile." You can edit any details about yourself and tell everyone about your interests, where you are located, and much more.

Can I change my password/email?
Yes, but before you do make sure your e-mali is valid! To change your password or e-mail, click on the "My Profile" button to access your profile. Then, click on the "Edit" menu and click on "Update Your Profile." Edit your password or e-mail underneath the Contact Info tab.

Clans

How do I create my own clan?
It's easy and everything is free. We do not charge for any features on our websites. To create your own clan, access the clan page, then near the top of the page, click on the "Create your OWN clan!" link. You can fill out details about your clan, upload your own clan image, and more.

Do I get my own clan forum?
Yes! Once you create your own clan, your clan forum is automatically created for you. You and your clan members can easily communicate at your own forum and setup online events, tournaments, and more!

How do I access my own clan forum?
To access your clan forum, first access your clan's page. Once you are at your clan, click on the "Clan Forum" link.

My clan forum is not listed underneath the public forums. Why can I only view it under my clan page?
Wait at least 24 hours for your clan forum to appear in our forums listing. Also, if you have 0 posts at your forum, you will not be listed at all.

What is the difference between public, approval, and invite clans?
Public clans are open to anyone and therefore anyone can join. Approval clans require approval from the Clan Manager before members are accepted into the clan. Approval is the recommended clan setting because allows Clan Mangers to have complete control over their members. Invite clan only allow members to join based upon invites from the Clan Manager or other clan members.

What is a clan bulletin and what is it used for?
Clan bulletins are an easy way to make announcements, post official clan news, and grab the attention of all clan members.

Can I post bulletins? And who sees the bulletins?
You can only post bulletins if you are a member of that clan. Only clan members and Clan Managers can post bulletins.

Is it okay to advertise my clan?
You may advertise your clan as long as your do not constantly spam. You may only provide a link to your clan page within this website. Do not advertise any other websites, clans, or communities that are not directly partnered with BestofVideoGames.com This is against the site and forum rules as well.

Friends

Where do I go to manage my friends?
To manage your friends, simply go to your profile by clicking on the "My Profile" button. You can view your friends underneath your profile and to edit them, click on the "Friends" menu at the top of your profile and then click on "Manage Your Friends."

I want to be friends with somebody. How do I add them to "My Profile"?
To add somebody as a friend, simply view their profile, click on the "Friends" menu at the top of their profile, and click on 'Request Friendship."

I sent a friends request, but they did not approve it. Why?
If you sent out a friends request, the user must first accept your request before you become friends. It is up to them to decide whether they want to approve or decline your friend request.

Can I remove a friend from "My Profile" once I add him?
Yes, to remove a friend from your profile, go to your profile by clicking on the "My Profile" button. Then, click on the "Friends" menu at the top of your profile and click on "Manage Your Friends." There, you can delete friends or update comments on your friends.

Private Messages

How do I send private messages to somebody?
You can send a private message by either clicking on the "Private Messages" link or by viewing a member's profile and using the Quick Message box. It is usually easier to view the member's profile and use the Quick Message box.

Is there a limit to how many messages my inbox can hold?
Yes, to see the limit of messages you can hold in your inbox and outbox, go to your private messages by clicking on the "Private Messages" link. At the bottom, it will let you know the limit your inbox can hold (usually 30 messages per inbox and outbox folders.)

Why do you limit my private message space?
We want to keep this website free for you of course! So we have to put a limitation on how many messages you can hold in your inbox and outbox. Please remember to delete your messages often, because if your inbox fills up all the way, you will no longer be able to receive any private messages.

My inbox is full and I am not receiving any private messages. Please help!
If your inbox is full, you will need to delete some messages. Simply select the messages you wish to delete, then press on the red "X" image at the bottom to delete those messages.

How to use "Quick Message" to quickly send private messages to friends and clan members.
Quick Message is the easiest and fastest way to send private messages to your friends. Simply view your friend's profile and fill in the subject and message boxes in the Quick Message area. Then, click on "Send Message." You will get confirmation that the message was sent successfully.
